This semester the UHS Health Promotion Office is starting a new initiative to help improve the sleep habits of our students. We have a number of programs planned, including our new online sleep challenge, a College Sleep Environmental Scan, and a survey of the sleep habits of first year students. Last year’s National College Health Assessment identified sleep as an area of concern for UR students:

  • Over 30% of UR students reported that sleep problems were difficult to handle.
  • Almost 25% said their sleep issues were negatively impacting their academic performance.

To help us gather more data for this initiative, three graduate students from the Warner School of Education have put together a brief survey for first year students about their sleep habits. If you are a first year student, we would greatly appreciate your help by completing this survey. The survey is online and is estimated to take approximately 8-10 minutes to complete.

Here is the link to the survey:

We thank you so much for your time and support in this data collection effort. We hope this information will allow us to develop additional programs to improve our students’ sleep habits.
